From May 22, Varsi celebrates its 13th anniversary with “Fuori Menù”, a solo exhibition by Matteo Giuntini at Porte Rosse, in San Lorenzo.
The exhibition emerges from a visual practice that moves freely across styles, iconographies, and artistic genres, resisting fixed categories and predefined movements. A process that continuously generates unexpected outcomes, leaving space for deviation and surprise.
The show brings together a selection of paintings and limited edition works produced during the artist’s residencies in our studio, reflecting a multifaceted language that unfolds through painting, drawing, and installation.
In Matteo Giuntini’s work, the relationship between human beings, nature, and the animal world takes on a visceral dimension, giving rise to hybrid figures, anthropomorphic creatures, and presences bordering on the grotesque. “I am nature,” states the artist, encapsulating the core of his practice. Painting becomes an ever-evolving field, capable of deteriorating, expanding, and adapting to a wide range of surfaces and materials.

Dal 22 maggio, Varsi celebra i suoi 13 anni con “Fuori Menù”, mostra personale di Matteo Giuntini negli spazi di Porte Rosse, a San Lorenzo.
La mostra nasce dall’incontro con una pratica visiva che si muove liberamente tra stili, iconografie e generi artistici, senza lasciarsi ricondurre a etichette o movimenti definiti. Un percorso che, di volta in volta, dà forma a soluzioni inattese, mantenendo aperta la possibilità della sorpresa e dello scarto.
L’esposizione riunisce una selezione di dipinti, monotipi e produzioni in edizione limitata realizzate durante le residenze dell’artista nel nostro laboratorio, restituendo la pluralità di un linguaggio che si sviluppa attraverso pittura, disegno e installazione.
Nel lavoro di Matteo Giuntini, il rapporto tra essere umano, natura e mondo animale emerge in forma viscerale, generando figure ibride, creature antropomorfe e presenze al limite del grottesco. “Io sono natura”, afferma l’artista, sintetizzando il nucleo della sua poetica. La pittura diventa così un campo in continua trasformazione, capace di deteriorarsi, espandersi e aderire a una molteplicità di supporti e materiali.
