Alberonero Residency

February 2023

"Through intervals of hue, brightness and saturation we reveal invisible chromatics and meet the sensitivity of our visual apparatus. White is the space where we should look; there the perceptual game takes shape.” - Alberonero

This residency at Varsi Art&Lab is part of his research on color and vision perception. The artworks, created in collaboration with the screen printing studio 56Fili, further enrich the chromatic research carried out by the artist throughout his career.

By integrating old suggestions with new motivations and proposals, Alberonero has produced in Varsi’s workshop the two works that close the Miacromia experience. He has then moved forward with the production of 4 more series of limited edition prints, where he has taken the silkscreen technique to its extreme potential.

The Miacromia project concludes with a further investigation on the possibilities of color:“Through intervals of hue, brightness and saturation we reveal invisible chromatics and meet the sensitivity of our visual apparatus. White is the space where we should look; there the perceptual game takes shape.”The artwork on plexiglass “Study of Miacromia V” investigates the invisibility of color.

This work is a tribute to what is neutral and indefinite; it represents the delicate appearance of four-tones through luminous reflections. In the 50 screen print copies of “Studio di Miacromia VI”, the artist’s study on neutrality is transposed onto paper.

The outline of the evanescent square nebula is composed by individual colors, highlighting the original hues that, when added together, create the final shades.
